“SHOP THE AISLE, BLOGGER STYLE” debuts natural hair offerings at Walmart

Professional hair & beauty bloggers help consumers celebrate and care for their natural hair

ATLANTA— On Sunday, June 9, 2012 First Choice Sales and Marketing Group partnered with GA Walmart Supercenters to present the first of three “Shop the Aisle, Blogger Style” (STABS).  The mini-tour is sponsored by an assortment of hair care companies geared towards embracing natural textured hairstyles. The collaborative effort was created to raise awareness and present affordable options to local, existing and new consumers on how to care for and maintain natural hair. Each in-store event consists of popular bloggers knowledgeable with the hair care and beauty industries discussing natural hair trends. The first event was held at Walmart Supercenter located at 1801 Howell Mill RD NW in Atlanta, GA. Marietta’s Walmart Supercenter, located at 6520 Earnest Barrett Pkwy will host the second leg of the tour on June 9th, with the final event on June 10th at Walmart Supercenter located on 6020 Harrison RD in Macon, GA.  First Choice Sales and Marketing Group targeted bloggers known for experimenting with tons of natural hair care products rendering them go- to experts on the best products to use for the transition to natural hair.

Mae, one of Atlanta’s favorite bloggers, and founder and creator of “Natural Chica” hosted the first STABS discussion on June 3rd. “It was a great success, especially being the first event,” she says.  “I personally had a lot of fun sharing my natural hair process and I am looking forward to the next one this weekend.” Mae founded her site in July 2009 as an online diary documenting her journey transitioning from relaxed to natural hair. “Since then, the site has blossomed into a place where you can find tips and video tutorials to help with your own natural hair journey.  The site is constantly evolving, but the main goal is to encourage, inspire, and motivate,” Mae states.  She is also slated to help more women on their natural hair care journey on June 10th at the final STABS at Walmart Supercenter in Macon, GA.

As more and more multicultural women continue to experiment with taking the natural hair route, blogger CharyJay of understands the frustration felt along the journey. She looks forward to hosting the second STABS on June 9th. CharyJay says, “I understand that having natural hair can sometimes seem intimidating and difficult, and that’s why I choose to share factual information about the care of natural hair to help ease people’s mind when embarking on this fabulous journey.”

STABS will allow each blogger to provide general education on the assortment of products on display, restore the confidence in retail consumers that normally purchase natural hair care products elsewhere, and offer information on how to achieve at-home styles and maintain manageability.  Featured product brands scheduled to be in attendance include Shea Moisture, 4 Naturals, Beautiful Textures, Taliah Waajid, EDEN BodyWorks, Curl MAX, Curl Care by Dr. Miracles, and URCurly.
